Planning Your Podcast
We’re in the middle of creating a podcast planner to help you get organised when starting up your podcast. You can sign-up for the pre-launch here ».
Recording Your Podcast
You’ll need podcasting kit to get started. We recommend the following:
- Snowball ICE microphone – a USB microphone plugs into your laptop or computer.
-
Snowball Mic Windscreen – 4 Inch 3 Layers Pop Filter with Flexible 360° Gooseneck Clip
Editing Your Podcast
- For sound effects and podcast intro and outro sounds, check out AudioJungle.
- We use Audacity to edit and produce podcasts. You can download this for free here.
Create a Podcast Cover Artwork
Branding your podcast cover artwork is important, and you can create yours in several ways.
You can hire a designer from Fiverr or design your own in Canva.
Podcast Hosting
After you have recorded your podcast episode, you need somewhere for them to live. A place to do this is called a media host. Media hosting is where you can upload your audio or video podcasts that podcasting services, like Apple Podcasts or Spotify, can access and deliver to your listeners.
Here at The Content Alchemist, we love PodBean.
Website Hosting
You can embed your website from your media host into your website. If you want to build your website, you’ll need website hosting.
The Content Alchemist recommends using SiteGround for web hosting and WordPress to build your website. We use the Make WordPress theme from Theme Foundry.
